ABC has released the first six chapter on their website of the third book in the Nikki Heat-series, written by the New York Times bestselling author Richard Castle. In Heat Rises Nikki Heat must try to solve a murder of a parish, found in an New York bondage club. On her search for the killer in one of the coldest winters in ages, Nikki finds herself in a conspiracy which extends to the upper echelons of the NYPD. When Heat gets to close to the truth, she finds herself disgraced and is stripped of her badge. Out on her own and as the newest target of the killers, she can trust nobody. The only exception is the flamboyant reporter and her boyfriend, Jameson Rook.

Just eight days after Heat Rises (September 28) the first Derrick Storm-novel, written by Brian Michael Bendis (Avengers, Ultimate Spider-Man) and Kelly Sue DeConnick (Captain America and The Secret Avengers), will be released in comic book form. ABC released the first twelve pages not their site.
