Castle Spoiler: Will Captain Gates Kick Castle Out of the Precinct?

We all know Rick Castle can smooth talk the ladies, but that’s not to say the writer-turned-faux-cop doesn’t have his fair share of haters.

Unfortch, his main naysayer right now is his "boss," Captain Victoria “Iron” Gates, which could spell some really bad news for our author in an upcoming episode.

Castle creator Andrew Marlowe teased that in Season 4, Episode 12, “Dial M for Mayor,” Castle’s main cheerleader, the NYC Mayor, will find himself in very hot water over a disturbing phone sex habit and possible involvement in a young author’s slaining.

The problem is, the only reason Castle’s allowed in the precinct is because the mayor deems it so. So, if the mayor is found guilty, Gates could easilykick Castle to the curb, no questions asked. Who could stop her?

Below, Marlowe shares more about the ep with Give Me My Remote:

“Episode 12, a young woman is found murdered in a car, and we trace the car back and it traces to the motor pool of the mayor,” Marlowe teases. “And as you know, the mayor is one of Castle’s champions. And suspicion falls on [the mayor] and if he goes down, it will threaten the Castle-Beckett relationship because Gates won’t allow Castle to be at the precinct anymore. So there’s a lot at stake and there are some conspiracy elements. It’s an interesting episode.”

What do you think, Castle fans? Will the mayor really be forced to step down? And if he is, do you think Gates, with her cold, dogmatic heart, will really tell Castle to hit the road knowing how happy he makes her team (OK, Beckett)?
