Drop Dead Diva regular Josh Stamberg has boarded Castle‘s big February sweeps arc, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Continuing what has become a bit of an annual tradition for the ABC drama, this year’s high-octane two-parter has former Chicago Code cop Jennifer Beals following in the footsteps of Dana Delany and Adrian Pasdar by guest-starring as a “smart, commanding, and sexy” CIA agent who helps Castle and Beckett search for a fellow operative who has gone rogue.
Appearing in both of the episodes, Stamberg plays “an intelligence officer that ends up being very important to the case,” Castle creator Andrew W. Marlowe tells TVLine.
In addition to Lifetime’s DDD, Stamberg’s TV credits include Men in TreesStudio 60 on the Sunset Stripand Jenna Elfman’s Courting Alex sitcom.
Castle resumes Season 4 on Monday, Jan. 9, with the wedding of Ryan and Jenny (played by real-life marrieds Seamus and Juliana Dever).

The moment that I met you, my life became extraordinary. You taught me to be my best self, to look forward to tomorrow's adventures. And when I was vulnerable, you were strong. I love you, Richard Castle. And I want to live my life in the warmth of your smile and the strength of your embrace. I promise you I will love you. I will be your friend and your partner in crime and in life, always. - Kate Beckett The moment we met, my life became extraordinary. You taught me more about myself than I knew there was to learn. You are the joy in my heart. You're the last person I want to see every night when I close my eyes. I love you, Katherine Beckett. And the mystery of you is the one I want to spend the rest of my life exploring. I promise to love you, to be your friend, and your partner in crime and life, 'till death do us part, and for the time of our lives. - Richard Castle
