Cloudy with a Chance of Murder: Review

TV Reporter Kristina Coterra Straddles Rick in Castle Season 5, Episode 2: "Cloudy With a Chance of Murder"

Beckett is back to work and her first case is the death of a meteorologist.  In this episode, the case takes a backseat to the issues arising with their newfound relationship.  The duo want to keep their relationship under wraps but in investigating the case Beckett begins to mildly doubt their sustainability as a couple.   Combined with the threat of being discovered by a “room full of detectives,” our couple has a lot to figure out.
Although it’s early in season, our couple seems to be flying under the radar with relative ease, but leave it to the ever observant Lanie to notice Beckett’s “glow.”  So far, the writing has been superb, in that we still have the cheeky banter and knowing looks aplenty between Beckett and Castle.  Another plus is that the chemistry between the two seems to have ratcheted up a notch or ten.
I must say that one of the best parts of the episode occurred between Esposito and Ryan.  It appears that the “bromance” is back on between our boys.  I’m sure we will find out in the upcoming episodes whether the hatchet truly stays buried.  Altogether it was a solid episode and the Castle Team is giving the fans what they want.
