Castle Cliff Notes: Dressed to Kill

Hey Castle fans!  So between this cold I’ve been battling for weeks, a lot of work this week, and a lot of things I needed to get done it was a struggle to get to Castle Cliff Notes completed this week let alone even watch this week’s Castle (shocking I know!). That being said, I won’t be able to get a full Cliff Notes in this week but I didn’t want to leave you empty handed since you are nice enough to rank moments with me week after week so I decided to let you know my favorite moment this week and discuss a few episode points with you!

First, let me say how great this week’s episode was and it was exciting to finally see some wedding planning happening!  Between venues and dresses (which could be a whole different discussion!) it was Caskett wedding overload.  I know I’m not the first to say I wasn’t a huge fan of Kate’s dress, but being a recent bride I do know the feeling of putting a dress on and knowing it’s “the one.”  My dress may not have been the same one my mom or sister would have picked out but I knew it was 100% me and I loved it!  It was so nice to see Kate have this moment even if it was met with a touch of sadness since her mom was unable to share in the moment with her.  I can’t wait to see Beckett walk down the aisle in her couture gown J  And now onto my #1 moment!

1. Save the Date (Part 2!)
At the end of the episode, Beckett comes to a realization after receiving her dream wedding dress from Matilda.  She goes to Castle’s loft and tells him that they have to talk.  He nervously replies “wow that’s something people say before they deliver bad news.”  Kate begins her explanation by saying that when he called her about their potential wedding venue she was modeling a wedding dress.  She continues explaining their past phone conversation saying “When I saw myself in it I started to think about my mom.  She would have loved to have been a part of all of this.   To help pick out the flowers and try on dresses and when I looked at myself in the mirror I halfway expected to see her right behind me and she wasn’t there.  And for a moment I thought to myself I don’t know if I can do all this without her.”  Beckett tells Castle that this was why she said no to moving the wedding up to the spring and tells him how stupid she was to do that.  Always the caring one, Castle says “no not stupid… human.”  Touched, Beckett says “do you know what else I wish she could experience… you.”  Castle then tries to tell Kate that if she needs more time he doesn’t mind but Beckett cuts him off saying “no! I don’t need any more time! I don’t even want us to wait until the fall. I think we can find a new venue in the spring.”  I love hearing Beckett open up about her mom, especially to Castle, and it’s nice to see her so comfortable and at ease talking about a difficult subject.  Also, the fact that she can’t wait to get married is adorable!  Well fandom, you better clear your Mondays in the spring because it looks like we will be invited to a Caskett wedding sooner than expected!

What do you thinks about Beckett’s dress?  And how excited are we for a Caskett wedding?!?! Again, I apologize for not being able to give you a full Cliff Notes this week but I hope you join me again next episode! I love you, Richard Castle. And I want to live my life in the warmth of your smile and the strength of your embrace. I promise you I will love you. I will be your friend and your partner in crime and in life, always. - Kate Beckett The moment we met, my life became extraordinary. You taught me more about myself than I knew there was to learn. You are the joy in my heart. You're the last person I want to see every night when I close my eyes. I love you, Katherine Beckett. And the mystery of you is the one I want to spend the rest of my life exploring. I promise to love you, to be your friend, and your partner in crime and life, 'till death do us part, and for the time of our lives. - Richard Castle
