Tamala Jones Teases Driven

CASTLE’s seventh season kicks off tonight, and when the show returns, Castle is still MIA after his car was run off the road…as he was on his way to marry Beckett. “I can tell you that it’s going to pick up exactly where the season left [off],” CASTLE star Tamala Jones (Lanie) teased. “Castle didn’t show up [to the wedding]. Kate Beckett is at the scene of the accident with Castle’s car. I can pretty much tell you, exactly where we left, we’re going to pick back up again. We’re not going to take you on a merry-go-round. It’s pretty intense what happened to Castle. I can’t wait to see it.” The hour, “Driven,” takes its toll on all of the characters, and for Lanie, she’s asked to do something she’s never had to do before: investigate a live body. “I was like, this isn’t Lanie’s cup of tea!” Jones laughed. “She’s only for dead bodies — what could she do? It was a little strange for her. But we did find some great clues of what happened [from Lanie's investigation].” As rough as Castle’s disappearance has been on the show’s characters, Jones acknowledged it’s been a tough summer for the show’s fan as they anxiously waited to find out what was going on. “They were dying,” she said. “They were like, ‘Oh my God, you guys did it to us again? You can’t leave us like this. What’s happening to Castle? Can you tell us?’ And I’m like, ‘You’re going to have to wait until the season opening!’ They were distraught.” But they won’t have to wait much longer!
