“Well, this episode definitely wasn’t
one of my favorites” said no Castle fan ever!
On a less sarcastic note, how amazing was this week’s Castle?!?!? We
finally got the Caskett wedding as well as a look at what Kate and Rick could
have been if they never met. I think we
can all agree that a world with Caskett is much better than a world without our
happy couple. Choosing my favorite moments from this episode was no easy task
but I think we can all agree on the number one moment! We have all been waiting years for this to
happens so let’s not waste anymore time!
Get your wedding attire on and walk down the aisle with this week’s
Castle cliff notes!
5. Fan Girl
After
locking Castle up, Beckett releases him saying she doesn’t want to do the paper
work. She then admits to Castle that
they have met before on one of his Derrick Storm book tours. She reveals that she waiting in line to get
the book signed by him and that she loved the books. Castle says “you never told me that” and
Beckett says “well we’ve only know each other for a day. Although it feels a lot longer.” While, Castle was referring to his whole
history with Beckett it was funny to see alternate reality Beckett be so
literal. I loved that she felt so at ease with Castle though to open up to him
and that’s why this moment was one of my favorites. You could tell Beckett knew something was
different with this “Mr. Castle” guy and she definitely trusted him!
4. Alternate
Lives
At the loft, Castle finds an envelope
addressed to Beckett. She explains that
it is a wedding invitation from her ex Will Sorenson who she isn’t sure if
Castle remembers. First things first
here Beckett. Of course Castle (and the audience)
remember Will! He was basically the Castle villain during his Castle tenure
along with any other Beckett boyfriend. Anyways,
Castle says that Beckett can thank him for saving her from Will who was “CSPAN boring.” Beckett throws out the possibility that she
could still be with Will if Castle hadn’t come around which got Caskett
thinking about where they would be without each other. Beckett says she would be Captain of her own
precinct while Castle says he would working on his second Pulitzer. Beckett, jokingly of course, concludes “so we’re
bad for each other?” and Castle agrees saying “the worst” as they exchange a
kiss. Once I got over the mention of Will again, I loved Castle and Beckett
talking about where they would be if they never met. I know it was setting up the episode premise
but I loved how they each had bold dreams of where they would be but are
clearly happier with where they are now. Man, Caskett is always so cute!

3. Worlds
Collide
Investigating
the crime in the alternate world, Castle jumps in front of Beckett to take a
bullet aimed for her. Kate kneels down
over his body and says “oh god, Mr. Castle.
You saved my life. Why?” Castle
responds “Because I love you Kate.”
Castle begins to fade out, leaving the alternate world, while alternate
world Beckett tries to get Castle to stay with her and not black out. Castle wakes up to real world Beckett and
immediately grabs her hand. Seeing her
ring he says “it’s you. My you! I’m
back!” Season 3 finale flashbacks anyone? I could only think of Castle begging Kate to
stay with him after she was shot and his admission of loving her. A perfectly placed past Castle reference for
all Castle fans. It got me thinking
about all the way back in season 3 and how far Beckett and Castle have come. At
the time everything was so dark and angsty but it has all come full circle. God, this show is so fantastic and perfect I
can’t get over it!
2. First Dance
After
the ceremony, Castle and Beckett are alone on the wedding terrace. Castle asks “Mrs. Castle, may I have this
dance?” Kate, somewhat disappointed,
says “there’s no music” but Castle came prepared. He pulls out his phone and “In My Veins”
starts playing. The newlyweds share
their first dance together to “their” song and Beckett expresses what the
entire fandom is thinking and says “it’s perfect.” I love that Castle had the music cued up and ready to go and it capped off the episode on such a great note. Also, Hearing “Mrs. Castle” for the first time made
me so happy and you could just feel the love between them. Then I started the debate in my head trying
to figure out if Kate will still go by “Beckett.” I’m assuming she would, at least at work, but
Mrs. Castle has a nice ring to it as well J
1. I
Do
I would assume that
with very little surprise to everyone the Caskett wedding was by far the #1 moment
of this episode! Caskett, as well of the
loyal Castle viewers, were deprived of our dream wedding last season and this
time we finally got it! After asking
Kate to marry him (again) we see what the official Caskett wedding will look
like. Set in the Hamptons, in a private
ceremony, Castle and Beckett wed in front of Martha, Alexis and Jim Beckett
keeping the moment very intimate.
Beckett, dressed in a gorgeous pant/top combo walks down the aisle and
the look of adoration on Castle’s face is amazing. Also, while I did miss the
beautiful second wedding dress, Beckett’s outfit was absolutely perfect. They exchange rings and vows which was by far
my favorite part of the episode. I
wanted to share both Beckett’s and Castle’s vows because they were beautiful and
perfect so bear with me here.
Kate: The moment that I met you my life became
extraordinary. You taught me to be my
best self, to look forward to tomorrow’s adventures. And when I was vulnerable, you were
strong. I love you, Richard Castle, and
I want to live my life in the warmth of your smile and the strength of your
embrace. I promise you I will love you,
I will be your friend, and your partner in crime and in life. Always.
Rick: The moment we met my life became extraordinary. You
taught me more about myself than I knew there was to learn. You are the joy in
my heart. You are the last person I want
to see every night when I close my eyes.
I love you, Katherine Beckett and the mystery of you is the one I want
to spend the rest of my life exploring. I promise to love you, to be your
friend and your partner in crime and life till death do us part and for the
time of our lives.
And cue the Castle’s first kiss as a married
couple. Now, I’m not one to cry (that
exclusive right is save for The Lion King and the end of Toy Story 3) but I would
be lying if I said I didn’t tear up during their vows. They were so perfect and so unbelievably
Caskett. My only wish is that Castle would
have also ended by saying “Always” but I’ll take it! After 7 long seasons we finally got our
Castle wedding and it was perfect. Major
props to the entire cast and crew of Castle and especially Nathan and Stana for
a wonderful performance. Now onto the honeymoon!
So was the wedding everything you thought it would be? Did you love the simplicity of it? Are you still freaking out like I am? Join
